I picked up a cheap sketching box of 4 conte crayons and thought I’d give them a go. There’s a certain plastic look to pastel paintings which I can’t really get on with, but can’t say I’m unhappy with the result

Three sketches from tonight’s life drawing. This one was 20 mins graphitone pencils. The extra smooth watercolour paper is working much better when using the water brush - very pleased with the results.

This one was 25 mins graphitone and watercolour pencils. Not really happy with this - too muddy. I need to be more bold with my darks to get a better value range
